That’s right boys and girls Randy Couture is back in the UFC. He has been out of the scene for 11 months due to contract disputes with the UFC. Randy has tried to move on to other organizations in order to fight the best fighter in the world Russian Heavyweight Fedor. The UFC and Randy have put their differences aside for now and that fight very well might take place in the future. For now, word is Randy will be fighting relative newby but Juggernaut Brock Lesnor and if Randy wins word is Fedor will be in the plate for him in early 2009.
For those of you that don’t like or know that much about MMA this is like the Boston Red Socks coming back in after sitting out for a year.

After 11 months of fighting in the courts it looks like the UFC and Randy Couture have buried the hatchet. The promotion is holding a press conference on Tuesday at Noon PT to announce a new deal with the heavyweight champion.
Couture is expected to face Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 in Portland in what could be the biggest pay-per-view show in the UFC’s history.

Yup, Kimbo is fighting Ken Shamrock on CBS on Oct 4. According to Sherdog’s website and MMA guru hottie Loretta Hunt this is the fight they have put together. I am a huge HUGE MMA fan and i have followed Kimbo’s “career” since he was a street brawler in Miami. I remember waiting with glee for a link the night he fought Sean Gannon, needless to say i am a bit saddened by this match up. I know Elite XC needs ratings and everybody including my Grandma knows who Ken Shamrock is, but come on man, this is silly. Ken is an old has been who has developed a glass jaw who has lost his last five fights. He is serving no purpose but to provide a body for Kimbo to floor.
I love Kimbo. he is a rock star. I even have a t-shirt sporting his mug with a full on shiny gold grill, but this is a waste of time. Mind you ill be there with glee in front of my TV watching his circus act because that’s the kind of guy that i am. I was just hoping for more from CBS and Kimbo. This is what middle america is going to get as a serving of what MMA is and that is sad. This is nothing more than a “When Animals Attack” side show crap for quick cheap ratings that will do nothing more than hinder the true sport of MMA.
